Description

Otomax is an ointment prescribed by your vet to treat your canine companions' acute or chronic ear infection. It's a combination of a steroid, antibacterial and antifungal ear medication, and it may be effective against both bacterial and yeast infections of the ear as well as inflammation. This tube comes with a convenient applicator for easy administration.

Possible Side Effects

Please contact your veterinarian if the following adverse reactions occur: hearing loss or balance problems, increased drinking and urination, topical or systemic allergic reaction or bacterial and fungal infections.

Drug & Food Interactions

If hypersensitivity to any of the components occurs, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted. Associated use of drugs known to induce ear toxicity should be avoided. Do not use in pets with known perforation of eardrums.

Precautions

If overgrowth of non-susceptible bacteria, fungi, or yeasts occur, or if hypersensitivity develops, treatment should be discontinued, and appropriate therapy instituted. Administration of recommended doses beyond seven days may result in delayed wound healing. Avoid ingestion. Before instilling any medication into the ear, examine the external ear canal thoroughly to be certain the ear is not ruptured in order to avoid the possibility of transmitting an infection to the middle ear, as well as damaging the ear from prolonged contact.

Instructions

Recommended Dosage

Instill 2 drops from the 215 g bottle twice daily into the ear canal of dogs weighing less than 30 lbs. Instill 4 drops from the 215 g bottle twice daily into the ear canal of dogs weighing 30 lbs or more.

Storage Instructions

Store between 36° - 77°F. Shake well before use when using the 215g, 30g and 15g bottle.

This product is great for dog's ear infections. My pug's right ear was red, sore, warm and infected. After using Otomax as prescribed for several days and cleaning the ear twice daily, the infection cleared up.

This medication was prescribed by my vet for a recurring problem with yeast growth. Chewy has the product for a lower cost, and gets it to my house with no problems.

This stuff is the best. It clears up dog rashes immediately. I mean in 2 days the rash is nearly gone. I love the stuff because my dogs stop scratching and the healing begins it seems immediately.

The best ear infection medication! It starts working right away and not expensive like Claro which needed 3 or more treatments to work will not use another medication for ear infections with my dog it works every time!

Will NEVER ever buy a thing from this company. They lied and did not contact my vet for our dogs medicine. As a result, we didn't get it until two weeks after ordering and after several emails and phone calls.
Prescription service Horrible

The process of getting a prescription was horrible and once the prescription was issued it took an additional week to get the product. I would never do this again with a new prescription my dog needed the medicine and I could not get it I made two calls with no results and finally the product arrived way too complex a system for Pharmacy. Why they couldn't pick up the phone and wait for a fax is beyond me medicine is too important to order this way I'll never do it again
Disappointed in shipping

I've been using Chewy for a couple of years and have been very satisfied. This was the first prescription I ordered from Chewy. The product is fine, however, the shipping took WAY to long (approx 9 days) my dog suffered as he waited. Very disappointed and most likely will not order prescriptions from Chewy anymore.
